幼子イエスのことをフィリッピン人たちは サントニンニョと呼んでとても大事にする。 かつてセブ島に上陸したスペイン人たちがサントニンニョを奉じて戦ったので 現地の王様に勝利を収めたという故事がるそうだ。 献堂式にも１０名あまりの元気なフィリッピン人妻たちがタガログの聖歌を披露していた。
